Costa Rica: soggiorni in bungalow

The place is lovely! The location is fantastic, right on the beach and next door to a restaurant and bar with great food. It's just outside the hustle and bustle of the town, but still close enough to easily walk by way of the beach. For me the location was ideal. The room was comfortable and cute. The host was kind and helpful. She set up a hammock on the beach for me, which made for a warm welcome. I was satisfied and would happily stay here again.

This place is to die for. You can paddle in to the break right out the private beach( low tide). Wildlife everywhere. Scarlett McCaws would feed in the trees out front and monkeys would steal your fruit if you left it out. You wake up to the sunrise on your face. This is a bucket list type of place. The photos don’t do it justice. The view out the front is incredible. We will be back for sure. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

Our recent stay at the Caribbean Coconut Hotel in Playa Grande, Cahuita, Costa Rica, was nothing short of magical—and a huge part of that was thanks to Silvio! From the moment we arrived, his warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care made our vacation truly special. Silvio went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed whether recommending the best local eats or simply sharing his deep knowledge of the area’s culture and wildlife. His positive energy and dedication to guest satisfaction are what set this hotel apart. The property itself is a slice of paradise—tropical, tranquil, and just steps from the stunning Playa Grande. But it’s the people who make a place memorable, and Silvio’s kindness and professionalism made us feel like family. If you’re looking for an authentic, relaxing, and joy-filled Costa Rican experience, Caribbean Coconut Hotel—and especially Silvio—will exceed all expectations. Pura vida at its finest!

David's place is amazing. 2 minute walk to the point (no better location for a surfer), all the amenities you need, beautiful gardens, friendly gardener and cleaner. Tons of fruit on the property that the gardener always harvest and gave to us to eat! To top it off, David was available to respond to any questions etc almost immediately. From restaurant suggestions, to tips on which breaks to surf on specific tides and swell direction. We loved our stay and hope to rent from David again! Thanks for everything David.

The people at the lodge are wonderful and made us feel very at home and welcome. Breakfast was really good too. We rented bikes from Mister Joseph and the ride to and from town took about 20 minutes because it is a bumpy unpaved rode but also has few cars and ocean views making it a pretty journey. The beach there is very dramatic with lovely sunrises. Isabelle is very active and engaged with the community and environmental projects and is a wealth of information about Cahuita. Roberto is also a gem of kindness and knows a ton about plants and animals.

L'endroit est parfaitement propre, fonctionnel et équipé: lit king size avec la clim qui ne souffle pas directement dans le visage, terrasse privée sans vis-à-vis, tout le nécessaire pour cuisiner, chiens et chat adorables... If you are seeking immersion in nature and being in tune with natural cycles, this is the perfect place to slow down and just be. I loved waking up a little after 5am naturally as the light just started to break, hearing the sound of the waves and howler monkeys and cicadas. I could see the ocean from my unit, and it was nice to be able to walk along the beach or take a swim to cool off. The place looks exactly like the photos. My glamping unit was very clean and simple yet nicely decorated with plenty of shelves to put my belongings. It was so nice to have a fully equipped and pristine kitchen with plenty of space to store my food. I was delighted watching the monkeys every single day. There are many birds (hawks, scarlet maccaws). And a coati scampered right by me as I sat on my patio drinking coffee early one morning. The hosts are so nice and take very good care of the place, ensuring it remains a peaceful stay for everyone and is respectful of nature and wildlife.

We had a great stay at David’s and would definitely recommend if you are in the area. He and his wife are so friendly and welcoming and are always available, if needed, but otherwise gave us full privacy. The space is so pretty and comfortable. We loved the pool and hanging out on the patios. The beds are so comfortable. Our hosts provided great recommendations for places to eat in the area and the location is a quick drive to everything. Great for two couples or families.

Alles war super! Einziges Manko, dass es etwas weit von Puerto Viejo entfernt ist, aber das sieht man ja schließlich auf der Karte beim Buchen, zumal man außerdem Fahrräder für 5$ 24h mieten kann! All in all aber alles sehr angenehm und unkompliziert!

Die Übernachtungen bei Cory und seiner Frau waren wunderbar. Die Unterkunft war modern, gemütlich eingerichtet und das Bett war ein absolutes Highlight! Großzügig und sehr bequem. Cory und seine Frau haben sich Mühe gegeben, uns den besten Weg zur Unterkunft zu beschreiben und uns mit frischem Obst begrüßt. Die Tipps zu nahegelegenen Restaurants haben wir gerne genutzt. Von unserer Terrasse aus konnten wir einen brütenden Tucan beobachten ☺️ Wir wären gerne länger geblieben!

Wir waren hier um die Gegend von Arenal und La Fortuna zu erkunden und hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt. Es war ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft lag sehr privat und mitten im Dschungel. Wir waren umgeben von einer wunderbaren Geräuschlulisse: Tropische Vögel und Zikaden hat man den ganzen Tag gehört. Einfach fabelhaft. Wir konnten unter anderem Tukane von der Terasse aus beobachten. Auch Gekos, Frösche und eine ungiftite Schlange kamen zu Besuch auf das Grundstück. Ein tolles Erlebnis. An die Outdoor-Toilette mussten wir uns zunächst gewöhnen, aber man weiß von den Bildern ja, dass dies so ist. Die Fenster in den Schlafzimmern sind mit Moskitonetzen ausgestattet, was sehr hilfreich war. Die Kommunikation mit Carla hat super funktioniert und sie hat immer schnell reagiert. Vielen Dank dafür.

Such a gem in Tamarindo! We loved being surrounded by nature and having the pool. The bedrooms were spacious and the kitchen was stocked well. It can be a little hard to walk into the main town because the house is located uphill but it’s definitely doable. Jose provided us with recommendations and was very responsive. Overall I would highly recommend!

Lieber Youbi, Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit und Unterkunft. Diese hat uns sehr gefallen und es war sehr schön dich persönlich kennenzulernen. Wir können deine tolle Unterkunft sehr weiterempfehlen, du bist ein toller Gastgeber. In der Nähe der Unterkunft befindet sich ein Supermarkt und gute Restaurants. Youbi ist super vernetzt und kann Kontakte weiterempfehlen, z.B. für Quadverleih (sehr empfehlenswert, da die Unterkunft auf einem kleinen Berg liegt). Die Unterkunft ist sauber und gemäss Beschreibung, Pura Vida! :)

When we were first making our plans, Jan from the very beginning helped us with making sure we had a car rental, made our reservation for us to stay at the Holiday Inn for our return trip home. Told us about the money exchange. All before we even met her. This was our first time in Costa Rica. We could not have picked a better place. It is off the beaten path but close to beaches and Jaco(5 minute drive). I have to say Jan is the best of the best! She greeted us with open arms. Helped us with places to see, where to shop for groceries and much much more. If you are looking for tranquility, Greg’s gardens are beautiful and well maintained. He also keeps the pool in top condition. I loved staying in their two bedroom house! It has everything you can possibly need for comfort away from home. The private pool is such a big bonus for those hot afternoons. We will definitely be back next year! I LOVED this place!

This house has an amazing setting. Just out of town on a hill with views over the rain forest. There is a great pool with an undercover outdoor seating area and a wonderful garden to watch the wildlife in. We spent one night sat outside after all the birds had gone to bed and watched a storm with lightning for about 3 hours. Fantastic 😁
