Hiranya Varna Mahavihar (13th Century) is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Nepal; its name comes from its polished gilt copper appearance which gives it a nice golden shine. It is a great example of courtyard temple architecture! The Golden Temple is especially nice in the early mornings during prayer times, and on full moon days. Open from 5am to 6pm. Entrance fee is 100 NPR for foreigners, 50 NPR for SAARC visitors. Free entrance for Nuns and Monks :)
