Scattered throughout the area are boutique cheese producers (this is Wisconsin, after all) Amish bakeries, one room school houses, dairy pastures, quilted barns, homesteads, scenic rivers, and big climbs - or flat ones. Around every twist of the road, every bend of the river, there is a new marvel to behold. Longer tours are possible too. Feel free to contact us. Let's discuss!
Hike, History and Herbal Tea
Join me for a guided hike through the woods, across pasture, and to visit two ponds that hold local historic value, former Jacobsville Sandstone quarries. We meet first at our yurt as a meet and greet and then we'll head out to explore the treasures of this historic land. During the hike we'll stop to observe and discuss the history and people of Jacobsville and its sandstone quarries. You'll see sandstone stacks from 120+ years ago, long forgotten since the quarry time came to an end. We'll also be observing and identifying local flora, fauna and natural phenomena. Come enjoy the serenity of our private 240 acre property on this approximately 2 mile, mostly flat-terrian hike. After our hike we will return the porch to enjoy the sounds of nature while sipping on our homemade, locally foraged herbal iced tea. During this time I'll share photos and other historical artifacts of our homestead and local Jacobsville past. Other things to note: You'll enjoy this experience best if you are prepared for the outdoors, including: safe shoes, weather appropriate clothes, sun protection, hydration, and bug protection. No pets allowed. A bathroom is available in our home, however we will be out on the trail for a while with no restrooms. We do have dogs in our home and you be greeted by them if you need to go inside for the bathroom.

Alpaca che passione!
Spend an hour with alpacas on our organic hobby farm - where animals are family. Libby is the matriarch, Lizzy is her next in charge, and Chips and Salsa are their crias (and half-siblings) who were both born here at the farm in 2019. We'll start out with a meet and greet with the alpacas, providing you with their favorite grain to feed to them. Most days, Chips is a fan of bodywork, getting all of the scratching and loving you can muster. She was handled quite extensively after her birth and is a fan of humans - often bumping noses with guests during her investigation of them. Did you know that alpacas are huge fans of water? When the temps outside are warmer, you’ll be their favorite person when you turn on the hose at the barn to fill their kiddie pool and shower them until they are soaked through - and loving it! Don't be surprised if Polo, our 150-pound Pyrador farm dog tries to get in their pool, too. We're happy to answer all of your questions about our hobby farm, alpacas and other animals we keep and raise. We have lived here for about a decade and the farm and animals teach us something new each day. You'll also have an opportunity to visit our historic red dairy barn for a peek at vintage and local goods or to grab some quick refreshment for yourself.
